This is a good cutter, a lot like the emergency cutters people have in their cars for cutting through seatbelts. It's considerably more limited than a good knife would be in terms of what you can cut with, but it's definitely reliable for cutting nets/lines/ropes/bits of wire/anything else you might get snagged on. In the event that you lost your knife AND your shears, this might be good to have... but other than that, a knife or shears would be far better tools to take with you on a dive, and this is overpriced for what it does. I keep one in my BC pocket all the same, but I expect that I'll never have to use it.
